Here is a buffalo carved by Wilfred Cheama. It is made from jadeite and inlaid with turquoise eyes. Jadeite is found all over the world, including California, Mexico, Japan, Tibet and Myanmar (Burma). Fine grained jadeite is extremely tough and can be stronger than steel. It is one of the two types of Jade, the other being the more recognized stone called Nephrite.
